Who we are
Novels Lawn Care is a lawn care business based in Columbia, South Carolina, serving residential and commercial properties across Richland and Lexington counties. You can reach us at novelslawncare97@gmail.com or (803) 622-3787.
“We” and “us” mean Novels Lawn Care. “You” means the person requesting a quote, booking a visit, or paying for the work.
Quotes and prices
A price we give before seeing the property is an estimate based on what you tell us. We confirm it on the first visit, once we have seen the lot, the growth and the access.
If the property is materially different from what was described — grass far longer than stated, a much larger lot, debris that has to be cleared before a mower can run — we will tell you the revised price and wait for you to agree before doing the work. We will not do extra work and bill you for it afterwards.
Booking a visit
A date chosen on this site is a request, not a confirmed appointment. We will contact you by phone, text or email to confirm the day and the arrival window. Nothing is charged when you submit the form.
Arrival windows are estimates. Jobs before yours can run long and traffic across the Midlands is unpredictable, so we treat the window as our target rather than a guarantee.
Weather and rescheduling
Rain, standing water and storms move work. Cutting a saturated lawn damages it, so when the weather makes the job wrong to do we move the visit — usually by a day or two — and tell you before the new day.
If we need to reschedule for any other reason we will let you know as early as we can.
Access and the property
So the crew can work safely and finish in one visit, please make sure that on the day:
gates are unlocked, or we have the code
pets are indoors or secured away from the work area
toys, hoses, furniture and vehicles are clear of the areas being cut
anything hidden in the turf is marked — irrigation heads, invisible fence wire, low-voltage cable, septic lids, shallow roots and stumps
If we arrive and cannot get in or cannot work safely, and cannot reach you, we will contact you to re-book at the next available slot.
Work we take on, and work we do not
We do mowing, edging and trimming, mulch and pine straw beds, bush and low-limb trimming, and leaf and pine straw removal.
Large tree removals, anything over a roof, and anything needing a climb or a bucket are a licensed tree service's job. We will tell you when that is the case rather than take it on.
Recurring service
Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly service runs on an open schedule. There is no minimum term and no long-form contract: either of us can stop or pause it by telling the other, and we ask for as much notice as you can give so the route can be adjusted.
Growth is seasonal. If a lawn does not need cutting on a scheduled visit we will say so rather than cut it, and that visit is not charged.
Cancelling or skipping a visit
Please give us as much notice as you can — a day ahead is enough for us to fill the slot. Call or text; a message is fine.
If you skip visits repeatedly, the lawn will need a longer first cut when we return and we will re-quote that visit before doing it.
Payment
Payment is due when the work is done, unless we have agreed something else with you in writing. We will tell you which payment methods we can take when we confirm the booking.
Prices are for the work described. Anything additional is quoted and agreed separately.
Photographs of the work
We photograph completed work and may use those photographs on this website and on our social media. We do not publish addresses, house numbers, names or anything else that identifies who lives there.
If you would rather we did not photograph your property, tell us — before or after the visit — and we will not, or we will take the photograph down.
Responsibility for damage
We work carefully and we tell you if we damage something. Where damage is caused by our work, tell us within a reasonable time so we can look at it and put it right.
We are not responsible for damage to items hidden in the turf or beds that were not marked or pointed out to us, for pre-existing damage, or for the condition of a lawn that was already in decline when we started.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under South Carolina law.
This website
The service descriptions, photographs and area pages on this site describe our own work and are provided for information. Growing conditions vary property to property, so nothing here is a guarantee of a particular result on a particular lawn.
Submitting either form on this site sends the details to us by email. Please do not send payment details, card numbers or any other sensitive information through it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business changes. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies. Work already booked is covered by the terms in force when it was booked.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of South Carolina.
